… and the wind begins to howl…

It’s blowing a gale outside and has been chucking it down all night so far. Combined with the cold and slush from Sunday’s snowfall, it’s pretty miserable. It took over an hour to get to Bush from Currie on Monday, a journey that usually takes 20 minutes. The fact that it was the Universities first day back didn’t help.

At work I’m currently designing two networks – one for Borneo which involves wireless networking and a 852 LON protocol I’ve never heard of. Most domestic and business networks use a 802 one. It’s a right headache and getting information from people is like getting blood from a stone. The other is a bit more mundane, but still complicated enough, involving a wireless bridge. So, I’m pretty busy but I’m not stressed – which is rather nice.

I’m knackered. I spent most of last night and tonight cooking. I’m trying to eat healthily, but it’s a real trial after the excesses of Christmas. As usual when I cook now, there’s enough for me to stow in the freezer. Cooking for one is not easy…

I’m running a pile of stuff over the next three weeks at ORC: a Mandragora game, a repeat of eBranch and another ORC shared campaign session. I’m starting to wonder if I’ve overextended myself.
